The footwear production industry in Vietnam has been hit by further industrial action.

The Hue Phong Footwear Company in Ho Chi Minh City closed earlier in the year after a strike by workers.

Trade unions have said thations with management have been fruitless and that workers at the plant are continuing with the industrial action.

They have astked for shorter working hours, higheer rates of pay and better working conditions.
