With the advent of cold winter, these plants will also face the cold test.

Faced with all kinds of difficulties, Beijing Landscaping Bureau has tailored various protection schemes for these large seedlings according to their climatic conditions and their growth habits.

For the evergreen plants such as cedar, Huashan pine, Euonymus japonicus, and cypress, they need to use wood to build a shelf around the big trees or only in the northwest, then use the mat to lay the bottom, then wrap them in green non-woven cloth from head to toe.

Nonwoven fabrics can block the north wind around the big trees, while the reed can play a role of warming. So even if it does not snow heavily, it will not be worried that the snow will bend the branches. The workers jokingly call this measure a "cloak around the trees".

For deciduous plants such as Chinese parasol, crabapple, Lagerstroemia indica, there is no need to use wind proof barriers to encircle the whole body, only to tie up the "waistband": use a straw rope of at least 2 centimeters in diameter to encircle the neck from the bottom of the tree trunk, so that even if there are some seedlings that are especially cold, they can play a very good protective role if they are tightly ventilated.

Around the "cloak", tie "belt" is not finished, some trees have to put on "cotton shoes".

In the area around the bottom of the tree, about 30 centimeters of land is covered with organic fertilizer of about 20 centimeters thick, then covered with plastic film, which is equivalent to putting a thick cotton shoe on the root.

This can reduce the ppiration of the roots and increase the ground temperature as soon as possible, so as to thaw the soil and replenish the moisture content of the aboveground parts of trees in time.
