In 2013 Bangladesh Exported 25 Billion US Dollars In Textile Exports.

A Bangladesh textile industry has revealed that in the next 5 years, Bangladesh's textile industry will benefit from the soaring value of China and India. It is expected that the export volume will grow 3 times, reaching 25 billion US dollars.

Anwarul Alam Chowdhury Parvez, President of Bangladesh garment manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), pointed out that China and India are the main competitive countries in Bangladesh's textile industry. Bangladesh textile operators are confident that the price and quality of some products will be defeated in China and India, which will benefit Bangladesh's textile export growth.

President BGMEA added that because of the soaring value of China and India, resulting in increased export costs and the pfer of orders from Bangladesh, Bangladesh benefited from many orders, so BGMEA is confident that future exports will grow substantially.

According to the canal, the number of knitted cotton trousers exported to Bangladesh for the first time in January 2008 was higher than that of the same products in China.

In addition, President BGMEA also said that compared with the strong currencies of China and India, Bangladesh currency cards tend to be weaker, so Bangladesh products can be acquired at a cheaper price.

The canal pointed out that Bangladesh's clothing exports will benefit from US $11 billion from last July to June of this year, more than US $9 billion in the previous fiscal year.

But President BGMEA has also pointed out several challenges facing Bangladesh's textile industry, including the overseas image of Bangladesh as a whole country and the textile industry, the lack of skilled labour, social problems and weak infrastructure.

Bangladesh has been rated as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, and President BGMEA said Bangladesh clothing industry has improved many areas, including the abolition of child labour, increased labour safety and improved sanitation.

President BGMEA believes that the Bangladesh garment industry will increase another 1 million 400 thousand workers in the next 5 years, bringing the total employment population to 3 million 600 thousand, of which more than 80% are female workers. This year, the total export target of Bangladesh is US $14 billion 500 million, up 19% over the previous year.
