In 1-4 2008, Japan became the fourth largest source of import and the third largest export market of Ningbo port.
From the Ningbo customs, it was learned that in 2008 1-4, the Ningbo port's import and export volume to Japan was 2 billion 280 million US dollars, up 25.9% from the same period last year, and the trade deficit with Japan reached US $380 million.
Labor intensive products such as textiles and garments are important export varieties. In 2008 1-4, Ningbo port exported 200 million dollars to Japan's textile and apparel products, an increase of 11.1%, accounting for 21.1% of Japan's total exports.
