It analyzes the problems and difficulties in the development of Xiqiao from three aspects: historical review, current situation and problem analysis, and development strategy research, and formulating the future development strategy.

The strategic research puts forward that Xiqiao's overall positioning is "textile town, tourist city, creative town". The goal is to build a charming Leisure Town, creative town and life town in Guangfo metropolitan area.

Xiqiao will pform from a "one legged walking" economy, which relies mainly on industry growth, to a "two legged" economy that is jointly driven by industry and services.

In the light of the advantages of Xiqiao, we should focus on "putting the old into the old, helping the small and attracting the new", that is, enhancing the added value of textile products, extending to the clothing industry, supporting the packaging printing and hardware industry, introducing the food and beverage manufacturing industry, strengthening the development trend of the service industry leading by tourism, and gradually pferring high consumption, high emission and low added value industries, providing better conditions for the development of tourism and cultural and creative industries, and promoting the "double pformation" of the economy and towns.

The responsible person of Xiqiao town said that the town plans to introduce textile and fashion design institutions, textile and clothing educational institutions, and establish textile and garment creative parks through the development of textile and garment industry.
