According to France's "challenge" magazine released on the 9 list of the 2008 richest rich list, French retail giant Auchan Group founder Gerard Millie replaced luxury goods giant LVMH group president Bernard Arnaud, with 21 billion euros as the richest figure in France.

"Challenge" magazine reported that Auchan group's profit growth of up to 30%, Jean Millie's wealth rose to 21 billion euros rapidly, ranking second by the rich list.

Meanwhile, the decline in share prices of LVMH group and Carrefour Group reduced Arnaud's holdings by 18% and total wealth to 18 billion euros.

Arnaud had been the seat of the richest French for 3 years in a row.

Liliana Bedangourt, the founder of France's L'OREAL group, the world's largest cosmetics company, ranks third in the rich list of France with 13 billion 500 million euros in personal assets.

Before the rise of Arnaud and Millie, Bedangourt had long occupied the richest position in France.

She is also the richest woman in the law.

The French economic magazine "challenge" follows the American Forbes magazine, and has set up the list of 500 richest people since 1996.

Over the past 10 years, the fortune of France's top 500 has increased by more than two times, and its share of France's GDP has increased rapidly from 6% to 15%.
