Vietnam Textile And Garment Group Invested 40 Thousand Hectares Of Cotton
In August 8th, the Vietnam textile and Apparel Group (Vinatex) is implementing a plan to develop 40 thousand hectares of irrigated cotton in 2015, with an estimated investment exceeding 36500 billion Dong.
Tran Quang Nghi, vice president of Vietnam textile and Garment Group, said that domestic cotton supply can only meet the needs of 2% of the clothing sector.
Cotton is the main raw material for the textile and garment industry.
To meet the demand of raw materials in textile and garment sector 10%, Vietnam's cotton output must reach 40 thousand tons in 2015.
Vietnam textile and apparel group also suggested that the government consider a cotton development project in a country and issue policies to promote cotton production.
