Gansu Clothing Spot Checks Pass Rate Of 33.8%
In August 12th, the Gansu provincial quality and Technical Supervision Bureau inspected 71 batches of clothing sold by 49 circulation enterprises in 11 cities and municipalities in the province (Gannan, Tianshui and Qingyang). 15 batches of 24 batches of products were qualified, and the qualified rate of sampling inspection was 33.8%, which was 21.9 percentage points lower than that in the same period in 2007.
The results of spot checks showed that the qualified rate of formaldehyde and dye fastness and other indicators related to personal health and safety were relatively high.
It is understood that formaldehyde has a stimulating effect on human skin and respiratory tract. If people wear excessive formaldehyde content, the release of formaldehyde in clothing will stimulate people's eyes, skin and mucous membranes. GB18401-2003 the national basic safety technical specification for textile products stipulates that the formaldehyde content is 75mg/kg. The measured value of formaldehyde content of unqualified products is as high as 219.6 mg/kg. The high or low pH value not only has an impact on the performance of clothing itself, but also may cause some harm to human health in the process of wearing clothes.
It is reported that the quality and technology supervision departments of various cities and municipalities in Gansu will be dealt with according to law on the production and distribution enterprises that are not qualified by the supervision and spot check. The enterprises that sell the unqualified products of general quality projects shall be ordered to make rectification. The products and fake and shoddy products that may cause health risks and personal and property safety hazards must be punished according to law, including the confiscation of substandard products, the rectification notice shall be issued, the enterprises shall be urged to make rectification within a specified time, and the inspection and acceptance shall be organized.
