From the relevant departments, the "infant clothing standard" (hereinafter referred to as the "standard") will be formally implemented in October 1st. This is the first national industry standard set for the safety of infant clothing and clothing in China.

The provisions in the standard concerning infant clothing safety are mandatory provisions.

According to the insiders, the new standard is very delicate and full of faces. It looks like "mother's hands" and makes the babies feel tender and safe.

It is understood that the standard is mainly aimed at the characteristics of infants and young children pulling clothes and biting clothes, as well as formaldehyde, heavy metals and other residues may cause harm to their health. Therefore, in this standard, some mandatory provisions specifically designed to protect infant safety, such as the size of the collar, the Unzipper head, the length and strength of the rope, the residue of heavy metals and other technical requirements were formulated.

The standard first specified the quantitative indicators. The content of extractable heavy metals in infant clothing and clothing can not exceed 0.2 mg per kilogram, and copper should not exceed 25 mg per kilogram. The formaldehyde content most concerned by parents must be less than or equal to 20 mg per kilogram.

In order to ensure that clothes do not stimulate the delicate skin of infants and young children, the pH value must be limited to 4 to 7.5. The standard clearly requires that the decomposable aromatic amine dyes are prohibited in infant clothing and there should be no odor.

The standard emphasizes that children's clothing must be labeled as "dry cleaning" because the dry cleaners may contain substances that stimulate the skin of infants and young children.

Through the investigation, we found that many of the infant clothing sold on the market in Yichun were not marked "dry cleaning", and the public did not know much about the new standard.

In August 11th, we came to some baby clothing sales stalls in Yichun Trade Square.

The price of most infant clothing ranges from 8 yuan to 30 yuan.

After looking at the clothes of a booth, it was found that some infants and young children did not have the certificate of qualification and washing instructions, but the washing instructions did not indicate whether they could be dry cleaned.

Never heard of it. "

A few large supermarkets in the urban areas of children's clothing sales counters, many businesses and consumers of "infant clothing standards" a blank face, have not heard of new standards have been introduced.

As for how to choose, many parents rely on experience and advertising.

"I usually buy cotton or cotton flannelette clothes," Ms. Chen said.

Can I send baby clothes to dry cleaning?

When asked about the shopkeepers of several children's clothing stores, their answers were almost identical - yes, as long as you were willing to spend that money.
