Meng Garment Production And Exporters Association Refused To Raise Wages
As soon as Ramadan is on the way, BKMEA has announced that it has increased wages to 800 thousand of its 1400 factories, an increase of 20%.
However, the move was strongly opposed by the Meng Garment manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
BEMEA chairman said that only in the case of Meng's currency (Taka) depreciated by 3-4 percentage points, it would be possible to raise wages and salaries to ensure the safety of the garment industry.
