Wearing A Shoe Set To Visit Tonic'S Works
The exhibition of "strength - Tonik design exhibition", jointly sponsored by the zero hour Art Center of Fudan University, Shanghai and the Shanghai Art Museum, was exhibited at the Shanghai Art Museum. The exhibition is the first stop of Holland's top design team. What's interesting is that all spectators must wear shoe covers to visit the exhibition.
The weaving carpet project is the core device of the exhibition: 16 large hand woven blankets are covered in the 400 square meters exhibition hall on the two floor of the art gallery. They express Tonik's understanding of "democracy", "expression", "analysis" and "ceremony" from the angle of "public", "individual", "organization" and "network" respectively. The spectators must wear their shoes sleeves before they can walk on this "soft ground". The "silent force" brought about by the special material of the carpet makes a strong contrast with the huge visual impact brought by the pattern, giving people a special psychological experience.
In addition, there are also works on behalf of Tonik in different periods: books, posters, maps, photography, and so on. The exhibition will last until June 8th.
