Unifi, the company of color yarns, based in Greensboro, Green, North Carolina, announced that the company plans to set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in China to provide services to consumers in the region. The company will launch the plan at the end of the two quarter of this year.

Unifi textile Suzhou company (UTSC) will develop and sell high value-added yarn and provide technical services. At the same time, cooperate with downstream textile enterprises to help them develop products and supervise production, from joint venture companies to suppliers, initial producers, or commissioned producers, Sinopec Yangzi chemical fiber company.

UTSC may recruit commissioned manufacturers to meet the expanding customer demand of regional customers, including the existing Unifi brand, AIO, A.M.Y., Mynx, Reflexx, Repreve and and Sorbtek.

Unifi will control the intellectual property rights of the brand and supervise the production to ensure product quality and technical standards.

Unifi president and chief executive officer Bill Jasper said that China's demand for high value-added yarn products will continue to grow, with an annual growth rate of more than 10%, which is the exclusive advantage of UTSC.

The strategy of pferring to China will be conducive to the development of the company. It will not only reduce our competitive pressure and get rid of the unprofitable products, but also let us focus more prominently, more flexibility, speed up innovation and improve the quality of service to consumers.
