Over the past few days, more than 10 volunteers from Wenling Red Cross Society and Nanping district have been very busy. From six or seven a.m. to six or seven p.m., they are sorting out old clothes donated from all quarters in Nanping community hall.

They say these clothes will be shipped to poor people in Shaanxi.

In the hall on the first floor of the guild hall, the clothing donated by the residents was piled up. The already wrapped clothes were piled up into hills. More than ten volunteers carefully classified the spring, summer, autumn and winter clothes, trousers, clothes and footwear in order, and then folded them into a bag.

After the donation notice was issued, local residents responded positively, and sorted out their own unused clothes. In a few days, they collected hundreds of thousands of clothes.

It is understood that the Red Cross Society of Wenling has been keeping in touch with the Red Cross Society in poverty-stricken areas such as Shaanxi and Qinghai since 2001. It has not only raised hundreds of thousands of clothes for the poor mountainous areas in Northwest China, but also has sent them to the areas most needed.

Over the past 6 years, more than a million pieces of clothing have been sent to the mountainous areas of Northwest China through such activities.
