Vietnam Trade Information Center Network reported that in 2008 1-5, Vietnam's Haiphong city's total exports amounted to US $535 million, an increase of 27.6% over the same period in 2007, reaching 37% of the total export target for the year.

The main export products are aquatic products, textile and sewing products, leather footwear, electronic products, wire and cable, and ships.



The total amount of imports in Haiphong City amounted to US $850 million in 1-5, reaching 55.9% of the annual export target, an increase of 80.95% over the same period in 2007.

The main products imported during this period were textile sewing raw materials, steel, machinery and equipment.



In the first 5 months of 2008, the consumer price index of Haiphong increased by 15.57% over December 2007, an increase of 26.8% over the same period in 2007.



In the 7 months after 2008, the task of Haiphong city is that the industrial output must reach an average of 32280 billion dollars per month, and the average export must reach US $130 million per month.
