Vietnam's Ministry of industry and trade and Vietnam clothing and textile group (Vinatex) organized a meeting in July 25th to discuss the implementation of the prime minister's decision. The decision approved the 2015 development strategy of Vietnam's clothing and textile sector and the prospects for 2020.

In recent years, Vietnam clothing and Textile Group has achieved a record growth rate of 20%, contributing 16% to the GDP of the country and contributing 10% to the total export revenue of the country.

The goal of this development strategy is to build Vietnam's clothing and textile sector as a major export industry to meet the growing domestic demand, generate employment opportunities for local workers, increase competitiveness and integrate with international economic stability.

At this meeting, Hoang Trung Hai, Deputy Minister of Vietnam's Ministry of trade and industry, stressed the achievements of the textile and clothing sector and pointed out shortcomings. He asked the textile and garment department to make joint efforts to solve new problems, such as development funds, environmental improvement, low added value and other issues, requiring enterprises to set up trademarks and enhance competitiveness in an important position.
