The fourteenth China International Home Textile and Accessories Fair will be held in Shanghai from twenty-six to twenty-eight August. The exhibition will be fully furnishable from bedding to towels, curtain decorations and various kitchen, bathroom textiles, household decorations and crafts, and will try to interpret the concept of "home textiles".

Reporters today learned that the exhibition, jointly organised by the China Council for the promotion of international trade, the textile industry branch, the China Household Textile Industry Association and the Frankfurt Exhibition (Hongkong) Limited, has an exhibition area of one hundred thousand square meters. There are nine pavilions, which are divided into bedding area, decorative fabric area, non-woven area, curtain area, indoor ornament area, designer salon, overseas exhibition hall, down and product exhibition area, etc.

More than 900 exhibitors from twenty-four countries and regions including China, Italy, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Greece, the United States, Australia, Japan, Korea, India, Pakistan, Austria, Canada, Holland, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, Portugal, Israel, China Hongkong and China Taiwan will launch a home textile event at home and abroad.

Yang Donghui, vice president of China Textile Industry Association and President of China Textile Association, told reporters that two 000 years ago, through the "momentum" and "market making", the domestic textile industry has pushed the development of China's textile industry to an annual growth rate of nearly 30% over the past six years. It has become a new industry in China's textile industry, attracting many investors.

At present, under the plights of unprecedented RMB appreciation, European and American market slump, labor cost increase, raw material price rising and price war increasingly fierce and so on, he hopes to wake up the industry through a series of activities of this Expo.

Yang Zhaohua, vice president of the China Textile Association and the vice president of the China Textile Association, believes that the introduction of some forward-looking initiatives conducive to the development of the industry is essential for promoting the leapfrog development of the industry.
