Italy Shoemaking Industry Target Market For The United States
According to the Italy daily news website recently reported that Italy aimed at the U.S. market, it is expected that exports to the United States in 2008 will exceed 30 billion euros.
Urso, Vice Minister of foreign trade affairs of the Ministry of economic development of Italy, said that Italy's exports to the United States were mainly fashion shoes.
Urso also said that the US economy will begin to recover in the spring of 2009, which is the best time for Italy enterprises to invest in the development of the US market.
On Thursday, he will lead 43 top shoe business managers and heads of departments in Italy to visit the United States and take part in the "American fashion week" to promote the export of footwear made by Italy to the United States.
It is reported that the government of Italy has invested 10 million euros to promote the development of shoes, food and automation products in the US market.
Italy is the fifth largest country to enter the US shoe market after China, Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia.
