On Thursday, Vietnamese state media reported that Vietnamese textile and garment manufacturers asked the government to help enterprises in the face of reduced export orders and difficult times during the global economic slowdown, including providing us $295 million in credit subsidies.

Last year, the textile industry took the place of the crude oil industry and became the largest export earning partner in Vietnam, earning 9 billion 100 million dollars for Vietnam.

Faced with the difficulties of the global economic slowdown, the textile industry has proposed three measures to the government: to provide 5 trillion Vietnamese Dong (295 million dollars) bank credit subsidy to exporters because the bank interest rate is too high; 1% of the total clothing export revenue is used to subsidize those who export difficult enterprises or those who plan to lay off workers; and 50 billion of the Vietnamese Dong (2 million 900 thousand US dollars) is used to promote Vietnamese textile and apparel sales in the international market.

Last year, the textile and garment industry created more jobs for Vietnam than any other industry.
