08 Years Pakistan Textile Clothing Exports To The United States
According to us statistics, the volume and amount of textiles and clothing exported to the United States in Pakistan decreased in 2008.
The number of exports to the United States was 2 billion 930 million square meters, a decrease of 245 million square meters from the previous year, and a decrease of 7.7%, accounting for 5.82% of the total imports of textiles in the United States, ranking second. India, which is the same place in South Asia, is 2 billion 840 million square meters, an increase of 4.25%, accounting for 5.64%, ranking third, and Bangladesh 1 billion 665 million square meters, an increase of 7.22%, accounting for 3.31%, ranking seventh.
In 2008, the export value of textiles and clothing from Pakistan to the United States amounted to US $3 billion 78 million, representing a decrease of US $92 million over the previous year, a decrease of 2.9%, accounting for 3.3%, ranking seventh. India was 5 billion 78 million dollars, down 0.5%, accounting for 5.45%, ranking third, and Bangladesh 3 billion 537 million dollars, an increase of 10.85% over the previous year, accounting for 3.8%, ranking sixth.
From the perspective of product category, in 2008, exports of cotton yarn from Pakistan to the United States decreased by 38 million US dollars, down 38.91 from the same period last year, and cotton cloth was 118 million US dollars, down 28.11 compared with the same period last year. The finished products were 1 billion 473 million US dollars, down 1.07 compared with the same period last year, and the garments were 1 billion 510 million US dollars, down 0.33 from the same period last year.
Affected by the financial crisis and recession, imports of textiles and clothing in the United States declined in 2008. The total import volume was 50 billion 360 million square meters, with a total value of US $93 billion 187 million, down 5.21% and 3.34% respectively.
