The import of 1 billion 600 million square meters from China decreased by 4% compared with the same period last year, the amount of US $2 billion 660 million, up 2.6% over the same period last year.

The share of China's total imports from the United States increased from 40.2% in 2008 to 42.4% in 2009, and its share in total imports rose from 34% in 2008 to 38.1% in 2008.
