Houjie Town will focus its efforts on ensuring growth this year. It will leverage the government investment to pry up 5 billion yuan of social and private investment to cultivate new economic growth points.

There are hundreds of shoe factories in Houjie Town, which produce about 600 million pairs of shoes each year, and become the main R & D, trade and manufacturing centers of export footwear and shoe materials and shoe machines in China. In order to build a shoe industry cluster demonstration area, Houjie Town is going to start construction of the Huarui world shoe industry (Asia) headquarters base this year, with an estimated investment of US $160 million.

      華瑞•世界鞋業(yè)（亞洲）總部基地副總經(jīng)理張鴻：“ 要把中國鞋業(yè)廣東東莞的鞋業(yè)更快地融入全球鞋業(yè)競爭體系中，使東莞厚街形成一個鞋業(yè)的時尚發(fā)布中心和定價中心，成為中國的意大利米蘭?！?/font>今年，厚街鎮(zhèn)共啟動了50億元投資項目，其中，政府投資10億元用于生產(chǎn)性投資及水利工程等基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施建設(shè)，此外，外企和民企項目、民間投資各占20億元。

      厚街鎮(zhèn)委書記黎惠勤：“新的一年我們將以社會投資為主，政府投資為輔的原則，通過政府投資來撬動社會跟民間的投資，我們希望通過這個高強度的投資，對經(jīng)濟增長產(chǎn)生直接的刺激跟拉動的作用。”刺激本地消費也是厚街擴大內(nèi)需的重頭戲之一，該鎮(zhèn)將于4月28日到5月28日期間舉辦東莞市首屆酒店文化節(jié)活動，提升厚街酒店服務(wù)品牌。
