Sri Lankan government Ministry of Finance senior officials recently announced that the Sri Lankan government will expand the scope of the export incentive policy and reduce the standards of policies so as to help Sri Lanka exporters overcome the impact of the global economic crisis and promote the development of Sri Lanka's export trade.

In early 2009, in order to stimulate the development of export trade, the Sri Lankan government issued an export incentive policy. The main content of the policy is that the export earnings of export enterprises in 2009 will reach 90% of the 2008 income and the employees can not be abolished, so that they can receive a 5% reward from the government.

However, as the impact of the global economic crisis deepened, Sri Lankan export enterprises were generally affected, especially in many export enterprises, which found that export revenue in 2009 was difficult to meet the policy standards.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of the export incentive policy, the government decided to adjust and relax the standard of the export incentive policy.

1, the standard of not abolished employees remains unchanged.

2, we should lower the income standard of export enterprises in 2009 and set them flexibly according to their circumstances.

3, relax the export area encouraged by the incentive policy and benefit all export commodities.

Nevertheless, Sri Lanka exporters are still complaining that the Sri Lankan government's export incentive policy has not yet been put in place.
