A breakthrough has been made in the topic "polymer based nano special functional fiber and products" undertaken by Donghua University and other units.

After three years of joint research, the problem of nano scale and homogeneous dispersion of nano functional dispersed phase in the fiber reinforced polymer matrix has been conquered. The key technology of one-dimensional nano structure control of high temperature, high pressure, high shear fine denier fiber forming and the organic dispersed phase in polypropylene matrix has been formed. The first is the effective unification of functional, comfortable (fine denier) and spinnability. Compared with micron technology, the addition of functional components decreased by 50% compared with that of micron technology. The replacement cycle of spinning components extended from 1 weeks to 4 weeks, greatly improving the fiber production rate, reducing equipment wastage and production cost, and saving energy.

The wet developing function of PP fiber and its products, antibacterial function PP and PET fiber have been successfully industrialized in the enterprises of Shanghai Yi Fu Lai Industrial Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Jin Xia Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., and the output value has increased by 325 million yuan, which has promoted the development of related enterprises in the middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain with functional fiber as the core.
