Yesterday (3.30), Wuhan University of Science and Engineering received the notice from the Hubei Provincial People's Government on the approval of Wuhan University of Science and Engineering for Wuhan Textile University.

This means that the only university named "textile" is officially born in China.

The term "textile", which had been abandoned for 10 years, returned to the name of the school this year.

It is understood that the predecessor of Wuhan University of Science and Engineering is Wuhan Textile College, which is a specialty of garment specialty. So it was renamed and upgraded to Wuhan Textile University.

Adhering to the fine tradition and adhering to its distinctive development, the school has established a scientific and technological development concept of "stability in the reform, development in stability, quality in development, distinctive features in quality, and superior level in characteristics". It has made scientific and strategic planning, innovation and scientific development, and has made remarkable achievements in scientific research, personnel training and serving the society.

In 2009, Professor Xu Weilin's "high efficiency short process embedded composite spinning technology" was awarded the first prize of national science and technology progress. Professor Ceng Qingfu, who chaired the research and development of the "microwave treatment technology of textile printing and dyeing wastewater by microwave electrodeless ultraviolet photocatalytic oxidation and separation technology", won the two prize of national technological invention.

In addition, the school has formulated the "Hubei provincial textile industry technology roadmap" for the provincial government, and has established the Hubei textile industry industry university research strategic alliance, the school service industry, the local economic and social development ability enhancement obviously, the school's comprehensive strength and social influence greatly enhanced.

In March 26th, Professor Xu Weilin picked up the highest prize of science and technology achievements in Hubei Province in 2009. The award for science and technology outstanding contribution was awarded 1 million yuan.
