From July 1, 2009 to March 20, 2010, the total private sector bank credit in Pakistan expanded to 138 billion 400 million rupees, compared with 106 billion 900 million rupees last year.

Mohamed Kamran Shehzad, President of the State Bank of Pakistan (Muhammad Kamran Shehzad), at a meeting of the private sector credit Advisory Committee (PSCAC) in Karachi, revealed that about 63% of the total credit can already be provided with operating capital, while 37% of fixed investment credit and increased credit of main sectors have been in place, including manufacturing (including textile sector), electricity, gas, water conservancy and agriculture.
