Bangladesh Garment And Apparel Sector Striving For Industry Power
Trade union leaders in Bangladesh clothing and garment department demanded immediate reconstruction of the "Minimum Wage Commission" because no representative of the garment workers was appointed in the Committee.
The Secretary General of the MohilaSramik alliance, ShamsunnaharBhuiyan, was appointed as a member of the wage Committee, which violated the state's labor law because she was not a leader of the trade union of the clothing department, a trade union leader complained.
The union leader asked the government to cancel the duties of Shamsunnahar. He threatened the government that if Shamsunnahar continued to serve in the Committee and did not withdraw in the next 7 days, it would organize a strike.
According to the law of Bangladesh, the government must appoint representatives from the workers in the wage Committee.
