Shoe leather "old" industry seeks to develop "new" way out.

Yesterday, the implementation plan of pformation and upgrading of Wenzhou shoe leather industry was compiled by the Municipal Economic and Trade Commission, which was evaluated by the expert group. The plan will further enhance the strength and popularity of "China Shoes Capital". By 2012, the total industrial output value of Enterprises above Designated Size in the shoe leather industry will reach 97 billion yuan.

The shoe leather industry in our city has a long history, especially after thirty years of development after reform and opening up. It has formed a complete leather and leather industry system which consists of three main industries such as leather, leather shoes and leather goods, leather machinery, leather chemical industry, leather hardware, shoes materials and so on. It has become an important leather manufacturing and export base in China. Its pformation and upgrading is of great significance for promoting the pformation of economic development mode in our city.

The implementation plan put forward that, by 2012, the total industrial output value of Enterprises above Designated Size reached 97 billion yuan, of which the total output value of leather shoes industry was above 65 billion yuan, and leather making and other supporting industries were 32 billion yuan; striving for 4 shoe listed companies in the industry, making use of the capital market to become bigger and stronger; adjusting the product structure, so that the proportion of high-grade products could reach more than 20%, and the enterprises with new materials, new technologies and new technologies reached over 20%; and they would strive to build "China Shoes Capital Industrial Park", striving to create "China shoes capital" national regional brand names and high quality products production bases, and so on, and create 2 world-famous brands in 2 to 3 years.
