Portugal's National Bureau of Statistics announced on Friday that Portugal's consumer confidence index continued to decline in May and fell to its lowest level in 10 months.

Statistics show that Portugal's consumer confidence index dropped from -36.7 in April to -38.3 in May.

The Portuguese Statistics Bureau said in a statement, "in the past 3 months, all other components of the consumer confidence index are declining except for future employment expectations."

There is also a positive side to the lack of data - Portugal's economic climate index rose from -0.3 in April to -0.1, the highest since September 2008.

The manufacturing activity index and trade confidence index increased in May this year.

But the confidence of employees in the service, construction and public sectors has declined.

In other European economic data, Greece reported that the producer price index in April increased by 9.8% compared to the same period last year, and the growth rate was 1.5%.
