The use of anti-dumping duties is to protect PET producers in Europe. It is a measure to be implemented by subsidized PET imported from non EC member countries.
This request was put forward by the lobby of the India Reliance Industries Ltd, which is a PET export production unit in India.
The Reliance Industries Ltd has provided preliminary evidence that the subsidy environment has changed.
Reliance Industries Ltd's application has submitted enough evidence that the number of subsidies has dropped to below the current level of application.

The reduction in the level of subsidy is mainly due to a marked decline in the rate of duty on duty (DEPB).
In view of the above mentioned, the European Commission believes that in terms of subsidies for Reliance Industries, there is significant initial evidence that the environment related to subsidies has changed significantly and has been continuously improved. Therefore, countervailing measures and anti-dumping measures should be reviewed.
