As an important supporting industry in the footwear industry, tannery industry has also brought serious pollution while providing services. Lucheng district has made up its mind to open a prelude to tackling tannery industry. In February 2008, more than 2400 tanneries and drum drums were shut down in five tanning bases such as Dong Qiao, Qian Jing, ten li, Yan men and lower shore. In September of the same year, the overall implementation plan of the tannery industry renovation project in Lucheng was promulgated, and the reconstruction project was further discussed and implemented. At the same time, the area will treat pollution "sharp sword" to the important supporting industries of the light industry: electroplating industry, through the implementation of the "Lucheng District electroplating industry upgrading and upgrading of the new three year action plan", strengthen the environmental supervision of the electroplating industry, and guide and encourage enterprises to move into the post Beijing electroplating Park, and achieve the goal of "centralized production, centralized management and centralized management". At present, the daily sewage treatment capacity of electroplating Park sewage reaches more than 9000 tons.

After tannery and electroplating industry renovation and "green cell" project construction and so on, the environmental quality of Lucheng district is improving steadily. The emissions of two main pollutants such as chemical oxygen demand and sulfur dioxide have achieved double decline for two consecutive years. The rate of urban sewage treatment in the whole region has reached 92.91%, and the harmless treatment rate of domestic waste is 100%. Last year, the number of days of ambient air was 347 days.
