As the upgrading demonstration zone of footwear industry cluster in Guangdong Province, the shoe industry of Houjie has been established as one of the two pilot industries to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries in Dongguan. The author learned yesterday from the relevant departments of the town that Houjie Town will submit a formal industrial upgrading plan report to the municipal government before July 14th, and intends to implement the platform construction from two aspects of public welfare and market operation.

It is understood that in order to promote the footwear industry in Dongguan to move from "disordered concentration" to "orderly cluster", Houjie and the world shoe industry headquarters base will set up a permanent government led, market-oriented, enterprise and Industry Association to take the lead.

The organization has surpassed the previous trade associations or will be named after the semi official "Dongguan footwear industry upgrading committee". The newly established committee must break the pattern that the Hong Kong funded enterprises and Taiwan funded enterprises are unwilling to join, and convene a joint meeting regularly.
