Korean tailoring companies say that the recent increase in the unit price and the circulation cost of the tailoring unit has not been significantly different from the price in China or South Korea because of the rise in Chinese wages. In addition, the Chinese tailoring industry, which has been growing rapidly in the past 10 years, preferred to accept large scale orders from the global enterprises, and demanded a high price for small orders.

However, some practitioners believe that the increase in tailoring orders is part of the plan to shift factories from China to the "temporary stops" in Southeast Asia such as Vietnam and Kampuchea. At present, there is no sound production infrastructure in South Korea. If there are no basic countermeasures, this will not be a long term trend.

At present, the business difficulties faced by Korean tailoring operators include unstable source of orders, rising wages and shortage of talent, difficulties in capital turnover and rising prices of raw materials.

Therefore, the tailoring industry suggests that the government can provide financial support, relax loan restrictions, support 4 major insurance, support training personnel, provide tailoring related information and set up tailoring areas, and strengthen the implementation of the origin designation system, so as to improve the competitiveness of Korean tailoring industry.
