The exhibition is jointly organized by the Jiangdong Memorial Hall and the China Federation of victims' labor unions, the Taiwan people's Cultural Association, the Taiwan people's Cultural Association, the Sino Japanese Exchange Promotion Association of overseas Chinese and the Huajian peace and friendship fund management committee. It is divided into three parts, namely, Japan's exile and slavery of Chinese labor crimes, Japanese colonial rule and enslavement of the people in Taiwan area, the Nanjing workers under the Japanese muzzle and the whip. By means of a large number of pictures, cultural relics and historical data, Japan's captive Chinese laborers, including prisoners of war and ordinary people, have been exposed to heavy labor in the extremely hostile environment of the occupied areas of China and Japan.

From 1943 to 1945, 6830 Chinese

According to historical records, from 1943 to 1945, Japan forced 169 batches of 38936 Chinese laborers to work hard at 135 sites in Japan, and 6830 Chinese laborers died in a foreign country.

After the war, the Japanese right-wing forces tried to erase and weaken the cruel history. The Chinese people and the righteous people in Japan have fought unremittingly for the sake of maintaining the truth of history and seeking justice.

6830 pairs of cloth shoes placed in the memorial square are mourning for the Chinese laborers killed in Japan.

Why do you put cloth shoes?

China's traditional funeral culture is very particular about dying.

At the time of death, the dead must wear a shroud.

In many areas of the Han custom, if the deceased is male, wear black cloth shoes on the feet, and if it is women, wear blue cloth shoes.

Wang Hong, a member of the Management Committee of the Hua Gang peace and friendship fund, said that Chinese laborers who had been captive to Japan were not wearing shoes.

The main significance of this activity is two: first, in order to preserve the dignity of the victims, two is to let the two peoples remember the history, so as to better safeguard Sino Japanese friendship and promote the harmonious development of the world.

Who will put the cloth shoes?

It is understood that the participants of the shoe placement activities were survivors and victims' families of the victims in the year. They came from Hebei, Shandong, Tianjin and other provinces.

Overseas Chinese, Japanese friends and compatriots in Taiwan also participated in the activities of cloth shoes.

Wang Xuan, head of the prosecution team of the Chinese germ warfare victim, believes that placing a pair of cloth shoes is related to the fate of ordinary people.

"The form of cloth shoes is very intuitive and has a large scale. It can give people a kind of mental touch. It is also a kind of behavior art. It is a very good way of commemorating the lives of ordinary people.
