Quanzhou is the core area of footwear industry development in the whole province. The garment enterprises in the city account for 70% of the province's total production, accounting for about 10% of the whole country, and the output of sports shoe enterprises is about 80% in the domestic market.

According to the demand for talents in footwear industry, nearly 10 colleges and universities in Quanzhou have set up shoes and clothing majors, and shoes and clothing majors in Colleges and universities cover various links from materials, design, technology, production management, logistics management, marketing to international trade, and have a relatively complete garment design and Engineering laboratory and advanced clothing design equipment.

At the same time, colleges and universities actively cooperate with shoes and clothing enterprises in running schools, combining production and learning, clothing design and other majors as the provincial key construction specialty and fine quality specialty.

But at present, shoes and clothing enterprises in Quanzhou still need all kinds of talents with bachelor's degree or above.

In view of the characteristics of Quanzhou's shoes and clothing brands and large demand for professional talents, a series of measures will be adopted to support colleges and universities to expand the size and scale of shoes and clothing.

From Quanzhou Normal University, Liming Vocational University and Quanzhou Textile Garment Institute, the three schools have set up the school of design and engineering of the Institute of footwear and clothing, as the two level college affiliated to the Institute of shoes and clothing, and set up specialized teaching points in the Department of education, focusing on building the professional group of footwear and clothing industry from materials, design, technology, production management to marketing.

The newly established Quanzhou Institute of technology and social development of Huaqiao University has set up the Institute of textile and clothing, introducing high-level professionals and setting up master's degree to provide technical support for the development of footwear industry in our city.

Led by Quanzhou textile and garment Institute, joint Quanzhou vocational college, Quanzhou garment and textile chamber of Commerce, trade association, Quanzhou famous shoe and garment enterprises jointly set up Quanzhou textile and garment vocational education group, strengthen school enterprise cooperation, study all kinds of related professional settings and formulate talent training plan, introduce Taiwan and international teachers and advanced teaching concepts, implement "order training" or "directional training" to meet the needs of enterprises for talent quality.
