The main exhibition venues in Spain include the capital Madrid Exhibition Centre (IFEMA), the Barcelona Exhibition Center and the Valencia Exhibition Center.

Founded in 1980, the Madrid Exhibition Centre was jointly established and managed by the Madrid municipal government, the Madrid Autonomous Region government, the Madrid chamber of Commerce and the Madrid savings bank.

After nearly 20 years of operation, its performance has far surpassed the exhibition center of Valencia and Barcelona with nearly a hundred years of history. It has become the leading exhibition organization in Spain and occupies an important position in the world exhibition industry.

At present, the number of exhibitions has exceeded 60, and most of them are internationally renowned exhibitions.

The Madrid Exhibition Center initially had 8 pavilions, with an exhibition area of about 72 thousand and 900 square meters. With the development of the exhibition business, two new pavilions were completed in January 2001, and there are still 1 billion euros to build two exhibition pavilions. The exhibition hall is now in progress. It is estimated that the total area of the exhibition hall will reach 197 thousand square meters after the completion of the 2006 expansion, and the parking space can be increased to 3500.

The Madrid Exhibition Centre revenue reached 86 million 800 thousand euros in the first half of 2002, an increase of 40.13% over the same period in 2001.

The Barcelona exhibition is also being expanded. With an investment of 490 million euros for 240 thousand square meters expansion, it is estimated that the exhibition area will increase by more than 50%. It will become Spain's largest exhibition venue (340 thousand square meters).

The facilities in the pavilion will also be available. There are not only cafes, fast food shops, parking lots, but also all the exhibitors and visitors that may be used by travel agencies, post offices, airline ticketing offices and police offices.

The Valencia exhibition ground covers 231 thousand square meters and is currently the largest exhibition venue in Spain, ranking the top ten in the world.

In addition, the Valencia fair is the only ISO9002 exhibition in Spain.

In 2002, a total of 45 exhibitions were held, and 12 thousand exhibitors attracted 1 million 200 thousand visitors. The estimated annual economic benefits to the region amounted to 600 million euros.
