It is made up of a group of Badong (Padaung) of Karen in the northern part of Thailand and on the border of Burma. It can only be seen in Mekong Hong Shun town.

According to their customs, girls at the age of 5 will have 1 kilograms of copper rings on the neck and limbs and ten kilograms on the neck until the age of twenty-five.

The long necked people feel that the longer the neck is, the more beautiful they are, so they start at the age of five. These rings can only be added to the floor, not to be taken down and worn for life.

At night, when I sleep, I take only the vertical ring behind me, while the other rings do not take off. I take a bath once a few days.

In many books, it is wrong to lengthen their necks slowly because of the support of these rings. In fact, there is not much change in the length of the neck. The functions of these rings are to reduce the shoulders by gravity and to lengthen the neck.

So when they need to see a doctor and have to pick them up temporarily, their necks will also shrink back, rather than some books will die.

Once worn

These women are the yoke of life, because their neck muscles become very fragile, leaving the neck of the copper ring and breaking the risk.

They believe in human ancestors, men are dragons, women are Phoenix, dragons and Phoenix are the most honourable and supreme.

Most of the long necked families used to be neck necks because of superstition and customs.

Now, apart from customs, it is mostly because of livelihood - to attract tourists to come.
