Hongkong's RMB trade settlement increased rapidly after the expansion of the trade settlement pilot to 20 provinces and municipalities. According to the HKMA data, the average monthly trade settlement in Hongkong in the first half of last year was only 4 billion yuan, which has soared to 57 billion yuan in the second half of this year, and the monthly average in the first two months of this year is even higher than 95 billion yuan.
Peng Xingtang said that Hongkong's RMB capital pool worked well, and it is estimated that RMB deposits in Hongkong will exceed 400 billion yuan at the end of February.
