And Mr.MehdiYekda, Secretary of the Leather Association, pointed out that Iran exported 6000 metric tons of ready-made garments worth 92 million US dollars last year (at the end of Iran in March 20, 2011), exported 3000 metric tons of textiles, valued at 21 million US dollars, exported 8000 metric tons of yarn, valued at 23 million US dollars, and exported 29 thousand metric tons of cloth, valued at 423 million US dollars.
But because of the poor global demand, garment exports declined by 26%, which was the first sight in 20 years.
Mr.AfshinRoghani, deputy director of the Ministry of industry and mines of Iran, said that Iran has 9500 production units related to textiles, 75% of which belong to the private sector. Due to the lack of state-run resources, the development of the industry is restricted, but the private sector has the advantages of developing vitality and indelible.
Mr.Roghani also points out that there is no particular problem in Iran's textile industry, and private sector is improving its production efficiency. However, we all agree that the machinery used by Iran operators is too old to use modern machines to gain advantage in global competition.
