Australia Revisions Import Conditions For Fiber Products And Textiles

The Quarantine Bureau (AQIS) issued a public quarantine warning (PQA0736), indicating that the import conditions for fiber products have been reviewed and revised.
Textiles made from deep processing of plant fiber (including Sam Ma -sinamay) will be cleared according to the "import of plant fiber textiles (including Sinamay)" (ICON); instead of "plant fiber - highly refined processing".

The import conditions of deep processed fiber products such as hats, gift boxes and baskets made from licensed rushes, seaweed and palm leaves have also been adjusted.
The customs clearance of these products will be based on document verification and random inspection; the documents must clearly declare the products involved are small processed products and indicate the plant name of the material.
The import licensing regulations for water hyacinth products were cancelled.
Customs clearance of related products will be checked mainly according to documents and supplemented by random inspection.
The importer must provide a manufacturer's statement that the product is processed and clearly stated.

It is completely dry and contains no viable plant materials; it also describes the plant species name of the material.
The import of grain straw and banana leaf products must have import license.
