From the Putian inspection and quarantine department, the textile trade in recent years has been learned in many countries or regions.

According to statistics, in the first half of the year, the total number of textiles exported to Putian was 538 batches and the batches were reduced by 21.6%.

For this reason, the inspection and quarantine department reminds the relevant textile and garment enterprises to pay close attention to the latest developments in the textile product regulations of the main importing countries or regions, and to grasp the specific requirements of the relevant laws and regulations.

At the same time, we should actively improve production processes and use environmentally friendly raw materials to further strengthen technical cooperation with scientific research institutions and testing departments, ensure product quality and safety, and enhance our ability to deal with various technical trade measures through technological upgrading.

It is understood that the newly added textile trade barriers are characterized by increasing product testing items and improving technical requirements.

For example, in order to keep the textile safety standards consistent with the international standard, after the European Union launched the REACH program, Japan also formulated the self discipline standard of textiles not using specific azo dyes, plans to prohibit the detection of prohibited azo dyes for textiles exported to Japan, and issued a ban on the use of harmful substances dyed clothing and textiles.

In addition, the compulsory inspection system for different categories of textile products has also been implemented in Taiwan, China. Clothing and accessories for infants and young children less than 24 months old or less than 86cm have been implemented since July 1st of this year. The execution date of towels, sweaters, garments, swimsuits, knitted socks and bedding is January 1, 2012. After the implementation of the system, Taiwan textiles need to meet a number of requirements to enter the Taiwan market through compulsory inspection system.
