Washington Passed The Final Regulation On Child Products Safety Act
The Washington Department of ecology has passed the final Ordinance (Chapter 173-334 WAC) and decided to implement the state.

The law on the safety of children's products.
The purpose of the Ordinance is to collect information to help governments and the public better understand the chemicals in children's products.
It requires children's manufacturers to declare to the Ministry of ecology the existence of high risk chemicals (CHCCS) in products.
Challenge:
The Ordinance applies to manufacturers of children's products, including toys, cosmetics, jewelry and baby products.
The final Ordinance also specifies the priority of declarations, large products that may be placed in children's mouth or in contact with skin, or products for children under 3 years of age or below.
The Washington ecosystem Department expects to receive its first declaration in 2012.
Other producers will be phased according to the timetable laid down in the Ordinance.

Retailers of children's products are not subject to the regulation if they are responsible for selling but not producing or importing.
