India said that Turkey would expand the cotton yarn special tariff or increase the import tariff to 12-17%, making India textiles less competitive in its sixth export markets.

A government official said: "India may soon complain to the dispute settlement mechanism, and is currently consulting with lawyers about expanding the effectiveness of the special bond."

Turkey began to levy special trade on imported cotton yarn in July 2008.

Therefore, Turkey's tariffs on yarn imports increased from 5% to 13%-20%, which is Turkey's import.

If a country wants to extend the term of special bond to three years, it needs to be examined to see whether the country still needs to protect domestic producers and prevent imports from surging.

Turkey's three year deadline ended in August. Turkey decided to review its extension of special tariff procedures, but at the same time imposed temporary tariffs on 12-17% for 200 days.

"A complaint must be held before a complaint is submitted to a dispute.

The India official said that we have already done so, but we have not achieved satisfactory results.

Experts said that Turkey's proposal to integrate with the EU customs union has increased the labor cost of the domestic market.

At such a time, India has great potential for exports to Turkey. Although some other countries, including Indonesia and Peru, are also implementing local protectionist measures to restrict imports of cotton yarn, the India industry believes that the prosecution of Turkey will send a message that India will not accept the violation of WTO rules.
