The three session of the third (2011) world footwear development forum has attracted 46 industry associations from 18 countries.

At this forum, the China Leather Association has published the development trend of the world footwear industry and the Chinese footwear industry in the next five years (Interpreting China's leather industry's "12th Five-Year guidance"), and compared the labor cost data of the most competitive countries in the world. The cost of China's shoemaking labor is 1.3~1.5 dollars / hour, and the international competition pressure is great.

According to the data provided by China Leather Association, last year, the annual output of Chinese shoes was 13 billion pairs, the labor cost was 1.3~1.5 dollars / hour, the annual output of India was 2 billion pairs, the labor cost was 0.65 dollars / hour, the annual output of all kinds of shoes in Brazil last year was nearly 900 million pairs, and the labor cost was 4.35 US dollars / hour.

From the data, we can see that among the most competitive countries with shoes making, China's shoe making labor cost ranks second, and the competition pressure is great.

At the same time, the China Leather Association also pointed out that these countries need to replace the position of China's shoe giants in ten years. However, China must speed up its structural adjustment, pformation and upgrading.

Harmless disposal of solid waste is basically realized.

In addition, the China Leather Association also pointed out that China has many advantages in developing the leather industry, such as abundant raw material resources, perfect industrial chains and huge processing capacity. Therefore, in the long run, China has the capability to cross the world leather power to the world leather power.

The leather industry's "12th Five-Year plan" guiding opinions put forward eight development goals, including the formation of 5~8 relatively mature and perfect tannery centralized production bases in the country with conditional conditions before 2016, and comprehensively promoting cleaner production technology. The water recycling utilization increased by 10% compared with the end of 11th Five-Year, the COD emissions of major pollutants decreased by 8%, ammonia nitrogen emissions decreased by 10%, and the discharge of wastewater decreased by 10%, basically realizing the harmless disposal of solid wastes.
