South Korea Revised Draft Notice On Textile And Garment Safety And Quality Standards

Recently, South Korea informed the WTO Secretariat of revising the safety and quality of textiles.

Marking standard

The circular (G/TBT/N/KOR/336).


In order to ensure the safety of infants and children, prevent toxic substances or fires from causing them.

The amendments to the standards are revised as follows:


Restricting the use of heavy metal nickel in textiles to intercept electromagnetic waves;


Warnings for infant / child pajamas made from flammable materials are required.


The use of ortho benzene two formate (ester) plasticizer is restricted in bags of children's articles.


The date of approval and the effective date of the notification law is September 2012 or later.
