She said that the Ministry of textiles has proposed extending the TUF plan in the twelve five year plan, with an allocation of 158 billion 860 million rupees.

The request of the India textile industry to extend the technical pformation fund plan (TUF) seems to have been solved to a certain extent.

Ms. Kiran Dhingra, Secretary General of India textile industry, said the TUF plan will continue at least for the time being.

She said,

The Ministry has proposed extending the TUF plan in the twelve five year plan, with an allocation of 158 billion 860 million rupees.

The restructuring plan will pay more attention to downstream industries such as weaving, processing and high value-added textile production industries.

However, it has not yet been expected to respond, especially in the last year of the 11th Five-Year plan, perhaps because of the weakening of the micro economic situation, she said.

She added that if the technical pformation plan did not improve in the current year, the Ministry of textiles would have to reconsider and adjust the plan to make it more advantageous to the textile industry.

The Ministry has announced that in addition to 40 approved textile parks, 21 integrated textile parks should be established.

Of the 40 textile parks, 24 have already been put into operation, and the other 21 are about to be completed.
