Data released by Wenzhou entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau showed that in the first 4 months of this year, the total export of high-end shoes in Wenzhou was 37 thousand and 500 pairs, with a total value of 1 million 835 thousand dollars, up 1.4% and 11.9% respectively from the same period last year.

Among them, the average export price of high-grade leather shoes reached 49 US dollars, a record high.

According to people, last year's top grade shoes exported from Wenzhou were dominated by ordinary leather shoes, and this year's leading role turned into safety shoes.

The so-called safety shoes are collectively referred to as safety shoes and protective footwear. They generally refer to shoes with feet and legs protected from foreseeable injuries at different working occasions. They belong to high technology and high added value products. The production process requires high requirements for raw materials, accessories and mechanical equipment.

Therefore, although there are more than 1200 export footwear manufacturers in our city, only more than 40 can enter the threshold of production safety shoes.

So far this year, a total of 7 shoe companies in Wenzhou are engaged in safety shoes production.

The safety shoes produced by Wenzhou Saif Shoes Co., Ltd. set up the highest unit price of Wenzhou exported shoes this year, reaching 91 US dollars.

Wenzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau professionals believe that from the recent export situation, Wenzhou high-end shoes have successfully entered the international high-end market, export volume is increasing year by year.

According to the Bureau statistics, in 2011, 28 enterprises in Wenzhou exported 442 thousand and 400 pairs of high-end shoes and 19 million 565 thousand and 300 US dollars, the average unit price was 44.22 dollars, and the number of export countries reached 19, the number and value of goods increased by 97.74% and 93.22% respectively.

And this year, Wenzhou has changed its past dependence too much.

It has made good progress in developing and consolidating Latin America's emerging markets such as Chile and Venezuela.

For example, Ruian, the main producing area of safety shoes in our city, showed significant growth in Latin America in the first quarter of this year, amounting to 350 thousand and 500 double and 4 million 210 thousand and 700 US dollars. The number and amount of exports increased by 87% and 60% respectively. The proportion of Latin American exports to total exports increased from 5.4% to 13%, while the proportion of exporting EU dropped sharply from 50% to less than 40%.

According to the insiders, the export footwear industry has always been "making summer shoes for winter and making winter shoes for summer". According to convention, Wen will undertake orders for genuine leather boots from Russia this month. It is estimated that the export situation of high-end shoes will be quite good in the second half of this year.
