Reporters learned yesterday from the China Business Federation that the European Commission on product safety has voted to ban the import of DMF and voted for the approval of the European Parliament.

The inspection and quarantine department reminds the relevant enterprises that DMF should be used as a mildew inhibitor in export products so as to avoid the quality and safety of export products.

Since last year, European DMF products have been suspected to cause allergies to consumers in leather products in Europe. The incidents involve France, Britain, Spain, Sweden and other European countries, mainly involving shoes and sofas.
