China's exhibition economic development report 2014 was officially released.

The report shows that in 2014, 2423 economic and trade exhibitions were held in the country. Although the momentum of total growth has slowed down, regional differences are also gradually narrowing.

The exhibition information was organized in 30 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and 123 cities in China.

According to incomplete statistics, 2423 economic and trade exhibitions were held in 2014, an increase of 4.2% over 2013.

While the growth is slowing down, China's exhibition market is undergoing regional adjustment.

Statistics show that in 2014, a total of 15 provinces, municipalities and cities increased the number of exhibitions, and dropped in 11 places.

Among them, Hubei, Guangdong, Shandong and other places grew more, and Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing and other places decreased slightly.

The regional differentiation of growth has led to the narrowing of the exhibition market in the central, Western and eastern regions.

While the exhibition industry continues to ferment, the construction of venues is also undiminished.

In 2014, a total of 128 exhibition galleries with more than 5000 square meters of indoor area and more than 2 economic and trade exhibitions were held throughout the country. The total area of indoor rented area is about 5 million 850 thousand square meters, which is 130 thousand square meters higher than that in 2013.

"The era of rapid growth of exhibition economy has passed, and China's exhibition market will be structurally optimized and integrated in the new normal."

The relevant person in charge of China Council for the promotion of trade (CCPIT) said that in 2015, the exhibition industry in the central and western regions will receive more attention and development space, and the proportion of new industries and high value-added industries will be further improved.

The report pointed out that China's stadium construction has entered a new round of investment cycle since 2010, and the heat has never been reduced.

Not only the large exhibition hall of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other core exhibition cities are accelerating the pace of renovation and expansion, but also some two or three line cities have built the exhibition center as a core project to promote the development of local convention and exhibition industry and promote social economy and urban construction.

Wang Jinzhen, vice president of the China Council for promoting trade, said that as the core venue for organizing exhibitions, the exhibition hall plays an important role in the development of MICE industry.

However, it is particularly noteworthy that the more the exhibition hall is, the better the exhibition hall must be built to meet the development level of the exhibition industry.

Especially in recent years, when the competition of exhibition hall in our country has been very intense, if the venue supply is not effectively controlled, the low occupancy rate or even vacancy will be hard to avoid.

With the development of more and more new pavilions, the exhibition industry in China will face more severe competition. How to effectively solve the problem of relative surplus and low rental rate of the exhibition hall may become the focus of attention of the government and industry in 2015.
