Recently, the Xinjiang development and Reform Commission made an investigation and analysis of the cotton yield, production cost and income in 28 counties (districts and cities) of 10 districts (autonomous prefecture and city) in 2019, excluding the Xinjiang production and Construction Corps. The results showed that the yield per unit area decreased slightly, the selling price and cost increased slightly, and the income increased.

The main reasons are: first, from the end of April, Xinjiang began to rain and cool down in many places. The emergence and seedling growth of cotton were affected to varying degrees, and the cotton yield per unit area would be reduced. Two, the cotton yield per unit was expected to decrease, the purchase price was expected to rise, and the output value would increase.

It is suggested that the large-scale and standardized cotton fields should be implemented comprehensively and the cotton field infrastructure should be improved. We will continue to promote the construction of efficient water-saving projects in cotton fields, build efficient water-saving facilities on the basis of large-scale and standardized cotton fields, carry out intelligent and efficient water-saving drip irrigation experiments in cotton fields, improve the management level of cotton production, output level of cotton fields and water resources utilization efficiency, and exemplary lead the development of precision agriculture in the whole region. We should strengthen cotton monitoring and subsidies to protect farmers' rights and interests. The relevant departments should do a good job in monitoring cotton prices, timely release price information and guidelines to the society, stabilize the market, and do well in Cotton Subsidy distribution and supervision, protect farmers' rights and interests, and improve farmers' enthusiasm for cotton planting.
