According to Kazakhstan's Zakon.kz website reported on August 1st, Kazakhstan intends to prohibit the government from purchasing furniture, clothing, bedding, cement and other imported commodities, and the draft relevant government orders are soliciting public opinions.

According to the document, 10 categories of imported products, such as furniture, clothing, household textiles and cement, are prohibited from being included in the scope of government procurement. The commodities produced by Kazakhstan enterprises with CT-KZ local production qualification and industrial qualification can be included in the scope of government procurement. The order is valid for 2 years. The Ministry of industry and infrastructure development of Kazakhstan said the resolution was aimed at protecting the domestic market, developing its own economy and supporting domestic commodity producers.
